079-1220-0559, Smith and Wesson 3, 2nd Model. Rare .44 Henry, very disireable caliber, since these guns were sold to be carried with cowboys carrying a Henry or a Winchester M-1866 Rifle. The gun shows 80% blue, mixing to brown. The gun had been coated in a heavy patina, but has been soaked for a long time and is clearly marke, little in the way of use marks, with just a tracking line on the cylinder. Bright bore with scattered fine surface residue. The grips show light use and handling marks with about 70% original varnish. Light edge loss. 31xxx, with matching serail numbers on back of cylinder, latch and barrel. 14xx. This would have been a 10,000 dollar gun 5 years ago. This is the type without the notched hammer, about 2000 of these guns were made. Fine to excellent overall. By far the best rimfire I have ever handled.
